****** About FlashStars II (for Power Macintosh) ******
FlashStars II is the first application-based screen saver that will blank and protect your screen after you leave your computer for a period of time. It hides in the background and watches your keyboard activities. You can forget control panel conflict since FlashStars II is an application! In addition, it allows you to change the speed and sizes of stars, and it plays music, too.
FlashStars II is based on the previous freeware FlashStars and MusicStars, but we added more functions to it. (Dragonsoft owns the copyright of FlashStars II, but we would love to answer questions about the previous versions).
****** Shareware Notice ******
This copy of FlashStars II is a demo version, if you try it and want to continue using it, please register your copy of FlashStars II by sending $10 shareware fee to Dragonsoft. After your registration, we will send you a disk with the full-feature FlashStars II 2.0. The completed version will enable all menu selections and allow you change settings. For more information, please refer to About... Dialog (under Apple menu). If you decide not to register your copy of FlashStars II, the application "Stars" is free for you to keep!
****** Installation ******
Since FlashStars II is an application, you can place this demo version at any location of your hard disk. After launching FlashStars II demo, you should switch it to background manually (it still works when it is the foreground application).
###If you register your copy of FlashStars II, the completed version will be put into Startup Items folder. After the startup, FlashStars II will switch to background automatically. ###
PLEASE REMEMBER: the files FlashStars II and Stars MUST be in the same folder!
****** Menu Selection and Restriction ******
When you pull down menus, the gray-out selection means that the function is disabled for this demo version. Basically, all you can do in this demo is to active screen saver immediately.
****** Memory Requirement ******
We have reduced the minimum memory requirement as low as possible. If you encounter low memory problem, please increase the memory of FlashStars II or Stars 5K at a time until you solve the problem. Since we do not want FlashStars II eats too much memory, we did not recompile the Stars (screen saver module) as a native PPC application. Actually, we have not found any problem running Stars on any Power Macintosh, it works just perfect!
